We were as surprised as you were last week Pill took to Twitter to complain about his Rick Ross-owned label Maybach Music Group but don’t worry, it turns out he wasn’t dropped from MMG because he apparently was never officially signed to the label in the first place.

“I never signed any paperwork with Ross. It was just my deal was over at Warner already,” he told MTV News yesterday. Pill went on to say that he was signed to Asylum/Warner Bros. Records in 2009, a year before Ross brought MMG over to the major label for a distribution deal. So while Pill may have appeared on the MMG compilation album Self Made Vol. 1 alongside Wale, Meek Mill and others, he was never officially a part of the MMG roster.

During his tirade last week he specifically criticized Warner for not pushing his music on radio and television. “I bet u can name you favorite artist and the turn on the tv and see the video and hear it on the radio. It’s not rocket science.” He was especially upset that his song “Pac Man” didn’t become a smash, even after it was remixed. “To have all that set in stone, I thought it would’ve been pushed a little bit harder, went a little bit further, but it didn’t,” he said.

That said, Pill is staying positive and says he has no bad feelings about MMG or Warner Bros. “Ain’t got nothing against none of them, nobody. It’s just the situation don’t work,” he explained. “It’s cool with us, I don’t got nothing against Ross either. It’s just I don’t talk to him.”
