I, Carl Muckenhoupt, created this site in 1995.
It has gone through several major periods of change since then.
In 2000, there was a major push to turn this site from a small set
of capsule reviews of the games that I had personally played to a
complete index of the Interactive Fiction Archive. Because the
Archive is so heterogenous, it was impossible to automate this to any
significant degree, and various people volunteered to enter data.
These people were given the abilit to add reviews of their own to the
site. Since then, other people have become contributors.
In 2002, Joe Merical redesigned the site, rewriting or modifying
many of the PHP scripts that compose it.
