|Utah Judicial Survey, 2010
District, Juvenile and Court of Appeals judges in Utah stand for retention election every six years and run unopposed. Select from names in the pulldown menus below to find two sets of evaluation results for judges in these courts facing retention in November.
The first results are based on random samples of attorneys appearing before each judge. To be certified, judges must receive a 70 percent favorable response to a least 75 of the questions. The second results are based on a survey of all jurors trying a case before a district court judge. For certification, judges must also get a 70 percent favorable response to at least 75 percent of questions, and at least a 70 percent favorable response overall.
There are no jurors in the Court of Appeals or juvenile court, and certain district court judges are assigned cases in which there are no jury trials.
