Oh, they are such CUTE and cuddly looking babies, Arwen! I love it when my children start to walk. They are so proud of themselves and for the first few weeks waddle around like penguins :0)

Definitely sitting up. My son wanted me to carry him all day long and would cry if I put him down until he was nearly 6 months old and sitting up on his own. He was wearing 18 month size clothes then too, and my back is still hurting.

For my twins, I loved the sitting milestone.  They were able to sit there, facing each other, and have their little twin talk while they passed toys back and forth or poked at each other.

The milestone I actually thought was the cutest with all my kids was a small one:  pointing.  Seeing a chubby little baby finger emerge from a clump of pudgy fingers and extending in interest at an intriguing object was just precious to me.  And then when they added, “Dat?” it was extra cute.

I love hearing about your twins.  It brings back great memories.

I do love when babies can sit; that’s up there on my favorite milestones list for sure! I also love some of the older milestones—jumping with two feet together, skipping, pumping on a swing, riding a two-wheeler. I love how pleased they are with themselves when they acquire a new skill.

Toddlerhood was not my favorite stage—I found the constant vigilance exhausting and one of my kids was a flight risk with a death wish. But, I did love all the new milestones (and language!) and almost nothing beats toddlers for full-on cuteness. Adorable picture of your little guys!

I love when they move from walking to that toddly run - always pitching forward like they’re going to fall forward but somehow managing to make it! Congratulations on 1/2 a year with your twins - that is an accomplishment to be proud of!!

Oh, your twins are so cute.  My 2nd just hit 6 mos and he has started sitting up.  Too cute.  He babbles constantly and loves noise.  He’s starting to rock on his hands and knees - it won’t be long before he starts to crawl.  I’m not sure what’s my favorite first - I think first smile and first giggle.  Because before that I find infancy just short of the worst thing ever and then that smile suddenly makes it all worth it and I find the strength to keep going. But I agree sitting up is pretty good too….

I think babies seem so much more content when they start sitting up. Sometimes that stage right before they finally get it can be so exhausting because they want to view the world upright. Our twins, born about 37 weeks, didn’t sit up until 8 1/2 months (I think mostly due to 90% heads and 15% height and weight, they eventually grew proportional though) Luckily, they mastered the art of rolling and entertained themselves pretty well that way, rolling all over the room to play with toys and each other. Haven’t had any other babies do that yet. Now after a couple of singletons, I know how exhausting it would have been had they not had each other those extra 3 or 4 months it took them to master sitting.

I keep finding new favorite milestones. I love the sitting up one. I also like the crawling and walking ones. I wean at 1 year, so that is another good one. Saying, “I love you.” Next would be coloring without eating the crayons. Going down the slide by themselves. Etc. And I still love discovering new ones. This year my favorite had to be when my daughter learned to read. So many treasures….

Congrats Arwen, your children are so adorable.  I loved the rolling over phase too. It was so much fun to watch them figure this out.  I also loved watching my children as babies discover their hand and or foot. They’d stare at it and watch their hand or foot move like it was the most fascinating toy. 
I too loved the “sitting up, but not yet crawling” stage. 
I’ll never forget when my oldest learned to push himself up to a standing position.  He was in his crib and I was putting clothes away in his room.  I heard him giggle and I turned around and he was standing up in his crib with the biggest grin on his face as if to say “look what I can do now!”  He’s 11 now, but that day just seems like yesterday….

My favorite has to be when they learn how to laugh.  I love the sound of a baby belly laugh.  My oldest was 4 1/2 months old when she finally laughed and my middle child was just one month old with the cutest belly laughs.  My littlest one is gearing up to laugh, but she hasn’t hit the point where she has the full laughing sound.
