Makarov doorknobs!

Check it out:

My only issue is I'd never get the door open. My finger would be indexed out of habit.

I don't get this

I am going to use an analogy. I just wanted to warn people up front, so that nobody gets a wedgie that I am comparing the tenets of one religion with the tenets of another, OK?

Suppose that the FDA put out a mandate that everyone, for the sake of uniformity, had to eat bacon. Suddenly, the Rabinnical Council of the USA objects, to everyone in the media's (feigned)suprise. The next thing they say is, "They are trying to take away our bacon!!!!!!!!!eleventy!!one!" This kiddies, is called Cognitive Dissonance. Or, Cranial Rectal Inversion.

This is the argument being made(even on the FB debate I had last night with the orignal party, not the 3rd party person who used the Classical Debate Method of Liberals) about the objection of faithful Catholics(as opposed to the nominal C&E type) to the DHHS forcing Catholic Institutions to pay for contraceptives and abortions. The argument being made is that by us saying, "We don't want to be forced to pay for contraceptives," they are hearing "You're trying to take away my contraceptives."

No, we're not. Listen carefully. You focused? Ok, good. I can't stop you from taking contraceptives. You want to take them? Go right ahead. Poison your own body with that drug, too. I WILL NOT PAY FOR YOUR DRUG HABIT! You can go to another source for that. Get a job, buy them yourself. Go to Planned Parenthood, they'd be happy to give them to you. And while you are living on OUR PROPERTY(the university owned by the Church) you will live by our rules. Guess what! Our property has limits. Don't like it? There's the door. I'm sure the University of (Name your State) will accept you, your same sex partner, your contraceptives(why do you need those if you're gay?) and any little perversion you wanna come up with. We. Won't. Pay. For. It.

k? Your choice. You already know how we feel about it, and we've explained the temporal and spiritual consequenses of your actions. You have free will. No one is stopping you. But we won't support you either.

What are they teaching in school these days?

On DW's Facebook, I am debating the government forcing the Church to insure contraception and abortion. I make the comment (comparing things abhorrent in my religion with things in another religion" that forcing a Catholic to pay for contraception is like forcing a Jew to eat bacon. A 3rd Party steps up with:
Wow. Bigoted much?
Critical thinking FAIL. Just mentioning the religious tenets of Judaism and comparing them with my own makes me a bigot. Idiots abound.

And I am in such a "Pistol or Blade, your choice" mood at the moment it isn't funny. I will not be slandered(libeled?) in that manner.

Quote of the day

Twofer, via BadCatholic: First we have-
One cannot make the argument that while Catholics have the right to choose not to take artificial contraception personally, they should not be allowed to withhold artificial contraception from others any more than one could make the argument that while Jews don’t have to eat pork personally, their restaurants must serve the meat. No man is obligated to give another man what he believes is morally repulsive, unless his not giving it interferes with the rights of the other.
Then we have-
Not only can women get contraception elsewhere, but there exists utterly no “right to contraception.” And why would there be? I know our world is idiotic and sexist to the point of the embarrassing belief that women cannot prevent pregnancy without pills, but as it turns out, they can. In fact, if you’re a woman reading this, chances are you’re preventing pregnancy right now. (If not, rethink your sex life.)

First, they came for the Catholics

If it comes to a choice between The Church and my Country, I choose The Church. When my insurance lapses with the end of my enlistment, I will not get a new policy, unless the Nation's policy changes. Period. I. Will. Not. Comply.

I am not in any way a good Catholic. I have sins that I struggle with. I have sins I do not struggle with. I've nearly given up on Confession, because of that whole "go and sin no more" thing I can't live up to. But I am still a Catholic, and I know in my soul that where The Church and I differ, The Church is right and I am wrong. I pray for God's Mercy, because I'm going to need it.

So I will not comply. Threepers talk about lines in the sand. This one is mine. The will try and force me to buy this product. I will not. They will fine me. I don't think I'm going to pay. They may garnish my wages. I don't know what I will do in that circumstance, but Hopefully there will be a non-violent way of getting it back.

I suppose eventually, men with guns will come.

I have guns too.

I hope DW and Progeny are elsewhere when that happens.

I am not Jesus. I believe in Him, with all my heart, but I am not like Him. When they come for me, I intend to fight. I hope He drives out the moneychangers before it comes to that, but if I'm gonna die, I'm taking as many as I can with me. Saint Steven I ain't.

And I hope that God will have mercy on me. And I hope he will have mercy on the poor shlup following his orders to come for me.

Maybe I'm wrong. I hope I am. Or maybe this is how the Jews felt in Germany in the 1930's. But I will not comply. I will not subsidize abortions with my money. I have enough of my own sins without adding to them.

In the meantime, I pray Holy Mother Chuch has good lawyers on standby. Something tells me Obama won't listen to the courts on this, either.

Hey Dave, you with me Brother?

Natural Law vs. Political Law

This guy is putting into words stuff I believe, but I didn't understand coherently, just instinctually.

I'm so subbing his channel. If you find yourself nodding along with this, I encourage you to do the same.

A Momentous Occasion!

Progeny just had her first baby tooth come out!

Yeah, after that last post, I'm blogging about my daughters baby teeth. Because I'm Dad, that's why.
