Heineken to build local brewery

Amsterdam-based brewer Heineken is to build its first South African brewery in partnership with spirits company Diageo, mainly to produce and bottle its Heineken and Amstel brands of beer.

Coega gets R1.5bn biofuels plant

Rainbow Nation Renewable Fuels, majority-owned by Australia's National Biofuels Group, is building a R1.5-billion soybean processing facility, the largest of its kind in Africa, at the Coega industrial development zone outside Port Elizabeth.

SPX commits to SA expansion

US manufacturer SPX Corporation, which will be helping to outfit one of South Africa's new power plants, has begun expanding its local facilities. SPX CEO Christopher Kearney said during a recent visit that South Africa was "on the horizon as the next growth region".
