MANTLE FP WIN AT DENHAM
The annual Middlesex CCC golf day was played, for the first time, at Denham Golf Club, and the day was well supported and sponsored by Sporting Index.
15 teams from Sporting Index, Ignis Asset Management, Curtis Banks, Mantle Financial Planning, Simon Smith Events, Trinity Mirror Southern, Vauxhall Motors were joined by “pro’s” Neil Dexter, Steven Crook, John Emburey, Anthony Ireland, Dawid Malan, Ryan McLaren, David Nash, Scott Newman, Chris Rogers, Richard Scott, John Simpson, Tom Smith, Paul Stirling,
The team event was won by Mantle Financial Planning, captained by Clive Shaw alongside Simon Jones, Peter Bourne and David Nash - many of his ex team mates in the room had a few raised eyebrows when he gave his handicap and it seems that Nashy’s golf has certainly improved after his retirement from the county stage!
Second and third place in the team event was decided on a count back as both teams reached 85 points. The “CEO’s” a team made up from Middlesex Chairman Ian Lovett, Chief Executive Vinny Codrington, plus Peter Wright Chairman of Nottinghamshire CCC and MCC Assistant Secretary David Batts were awarded 2nd place and one of the three Sporting index teams, captained by Nick Pocock finished 3rd. Their cricketing pro was the t20 overseas player signing Ryan McLaren who played alongside Steward Ireland and Milton Papachristodoulou.
In the Individual competitions Middlesex’s Chris Rogers won the Longest drive competition and Nick Pocock of Sporting Index won the nearest to the pin.
Once again a great day out for both sponsors and Middlesex players alike and a big thanks to all at Denham Golf Club and Julia Pearce.
