While the PSP never quite approached the sales of Nintendo's portable systems, Sony's first handheld gaming system was nonetheless popular, with data from VGChartz estimating worldwide sales to be over 72 million. Putting this into perspective, the PSP sold more than the NES, Super NES, and as of early 2012, the Xbox 360 and PS3. The top-selling game for the system, based on VGChartz's sales data analysis, was Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, selling an estimated seven million copies. The PSP's first successor, the PS Vita, makes its U.S. debut on February 22, 2012.
