Countryside
Boston and the Fens is great cycling country, with miles of quiet country lanes, and importantly for some, no hills. A purpose built cycle path, which forms part of the national network runs through Witham Way Country Park and along the banks of the River Witham to Anton's Gowt. For those who prefer a more serene way of travelling around the county, Boston Marina on the River Witham offers moorings for vessels, and operators do run trips along the Witham. For information about the marina please telephone 01205 364420. For boat trips on the Witham ring 01205 460595.

Horse riding centres in the area offer a range of services and there are a number of bridle trails, making riding safer. Wyberton is home to a woodland walk at Westgate Wood, Five House Lane, off West End Road, which is a 25 acre wood designed for public access with meandering paths. The Boston Woods Trust is currently creating a series of community woodlands.

The Boston Wash Banks scheme has resulted in the new Freiston Shore RSPB Nature Reserve. This reserve was created after breaches were cut into the existing sea bank, which was under threat by coastal erosion, to strengthen local flood defences around the Borough of Boston. A huge variety of birds and wildlife have already been attracted to the area as a result of this work, and in 2004, the reserve attracted more than 60,000 visitors.
