I give thee a tale of claimed sockpuppetry, fake Flickr children and Cam's mini IP investigation.

So according to this report on Fandom Wank, jeprdyfrndly has been caught posting a picture of kids she says are hers, but is in fact an old picture of someone else's kids from 2006.

And then it goes on to claim jeprdyfrndly is in fact a sock of amberfocus, pointing to a few curious facts, including that jeprdyfrndly's life seems a little too perfect and that she is always on hand to rec amberfocus - who is also the only one who seems to have interacted with her in real life.

The easiest way to prove sockpuppetry would of course be matching IP addresses. And what do you think I managed to find? If you guessed matching IPs, you get a cookie!

Basically, I mod time_and_chips, as some of you know. Which logs IP addresses, for various reasons, which does include being aware of sockpuppetry. I poked through various posts and I give thee:

Jeprdyfrndly's IP from a rec post last year. (Large)
Just her comment with the IP. (Small)
Amberfocus' IP from a Page-a-Mod question in 2008.
Just her comment with the IP.
The two comments together so you can easily see the IPs are the same.

Sockpuppetry? The IPs certainly suggest it!

(I would probably find more matching IPs if I bothered looking further, but T&C; was a very busy comm back in the day and had a lot a lot of posts, so yeah. If you find posts with comments from either, I can check the IPs, just link me.)

ETA 2: jeprdyfrndly has been deleted. amberfocus posts a vague 'people are mean' which seems to imply I am a photoshopping bitch (one of several? Hard to say since it's so vague) and others are just bitches.

Which 1) If you wanna say it, say it. Passive aggressive is blah 2) I have no beef with amberfocus, so why would I bother? Seriously, what the hell would be my supposed motive to go to all that trouble? 3) I have very little skill at photoshop or graphics. There is a reason I bribe people to make icons and other graphics 4) Pretty sure that said IP can be confirmed elsewhere 5) Deleting jeprdyfrndly looks a lot like covering tracks 6) Oh, come on.

But actual friendly advice here: If you want to keep posting fic, just keep your head low and post that - people will let it go since it was a relatively harmless thing, and plenty of people seem to enjoy reading said fics. Claiming it was all a conspiracy against you - now that is more likely to get remembered much longer.
