Welcome to Channel Surfing, the IGN TV podcast. This is where the staff of IGN TV (and occasional guests) lends their print-ready voices to the world of podcasting!

Hey guys, Eric and Matt are back, here to wish you a Happy New Year! …Just three weeks into 2012!

Okay, we know, we were a little very remiss in podcasting during our time covering the TCA (Television Critics Association) press tour. Sorry about that! But we were busy, we promise. And this podcast is, in fact, all about the TCAs, as we discuss all the wackiness that went down in Pasadena, CA this year, over 12 long days.

Learn why the 2 Broke Girls panel turned surprisingly ugly and how Kiefer Sutherland, promoting his new series Touch, couldn't escape the shadow of Jack Bauer. Find out how much the producers of any new show with an overreaching narrative – including Alcatraz, The River and Missing -- are deathly afraid of being seen as truly serialized. Hear how appearances by Kevin Smith and Russell Brand on the final days of the press tour brought some much-needed energy. And discover the legend of Burley the Koala!

"'Sup, Burley?" "Not much, Kat. 'Sup, Kiefer?" "Just chilling."

Oh, and yes, as we mention during this podcast, we did in fact record a second, more news-oriented podcast the same day – Look for that to go up by Monday.
