Matthew Broderick playing Ferris Bueller again!? This has been a day fans have hoped for since 1986!

Well, okay, they were probably hoping for an actual sequel to Ferris Bueller's Day Off, which apparently was talked about here and there between Broderick and the late John Hughes, but never came to fruition. However, a mysterious new 10-second promo has popped up online, and it's pretty clear Broderick is Bueller once more.

But what's this promo for? Well, it looks like some kind of bigger Super Bowl commercial is coming, as we're told all will be revealed on 2/5/12. Check it out:

Most likely, Paramount has agreed (for a nice amount of money) to let Broderick play Ferris as part of a promotional campaign, a la Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo playing Clark and Ellen Griswold in HomeAway's short film a couple of years back, which also got launched at the Super Bowl. Though man, it does get you thinking about an actual sequel, doesn't it?

Super Bowl ads have always been a big deal, but this seems to be the year where we're actually getting teasers promoting these advertisements. The Ferris one comes on the heels of the popular "Dogs barking the Imperial March" video Volkswagen has released, teasing their next Star Wars-related Super Bowl ad.

The caption below the Ferris Bueller promises a big reveal about the video is coming on Monday.
