The series was a hit in January when Denise Welch’s victory achieved higher ratings than the finale of the channel’s first attempt last summer.
Big Brother boss Gavin Henderson told The Daily Star:
“It’s an open secret that Channel 5 have been very pleased with its commercial success as have we. I’m sure it will continue. When we moved from Channel 4 to Channel 5, it enabled us to make changes that we couldn’t in the past. We have been a lot more confident this time around in how we drive the stories forward and make entertaining shows.”
In other BB news, Nicola McLean has put herself forward for a presenting role, despite saying that being a housemate in the recent Celebrity edition was among the worst decisions of her life.
However, Brian Dowling has no plans to quit.
