CEOP’s International Child Protection Network (ICPN)

The exploitation of children in any form is a global issue exacerbated by developments in technology and ease of travel.  Offenders will look to evade criminal prosecution by travelling to where they feel children are more vulnerable and the challenge for law enforcement is ever increasing.  That is why the work of CEOP's International Child Protection Network (ICPN) is so key in building not only relationships across sectors but also across geographic borders in order to make every child matter everywhere.

It brings together experts from all walks of life, from all sectors and from both public and private organisations with the vision of sharing expertise, building knowledge and limiting offender opportunity.   It looks to deliver programmes that in partnership are designed to empower children on ways to stay safe, that share best practice, that capacity builds in sharing knowledge about offender behaviour and looks to close all opportunities for offenders to operate no matter where they wish to travel.  Those who benefit from involvement are organisations who want to support front line practitioners who put the protection of children first, those who suffer are the ones who think they can travel to target children who are often the most vulnerable.

The work of the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre International Child Protection Network is active in many parts of the world - areas where for some time we have worked to build up partnerships and knowledge and where from experience we know that children have been targeted by in particular offenders travelling from the UK in the past.
