The Shatin to Central Link (SCL), which consists of Phase 1 – East West Line (EWL) and Phase 2 – North South Line (NSL), is a strategic railway line that runs through multiple districts in Hong Kong to strengthen the current railway networks by connecting several existing lines through a number of interchange stations. The 11-km EWL extends the Ma On Shan Line (MOL) from Tai Wai Station to Hung Hom where it will connect to the West Rail Line to form an East-West rail corridor. The NSL is a 6-km extension of the East Rail Line from Hung Hom Station across the harbour to Admiralty Station, forming the North-South rail corridor.
The existing MOL consists of 9 above-ground stations (Tai Wai, Che Kung Temple, Sha Tin Wai, City One, Shek Mun, Tai Shiu Hang, Heng on, Ma On Shan and Wu Kai Sha) which will be retrofitted with Automatic Platform Gates (APG).
The EWL consists of 7 new stations (Hin Keng, Diamond Hill, Kai Tak, Sung Wong Toi, To Kwa Wan, Ho Man Tin and Hung Hom) which will be fitted with Platform Screen Doors (PSD).

The scope of works comprises the design, manufacture, supply, delivery, installation, testing, commissioning and rectification of defects during the defects liability period of the APG for the 9 above-ground stations of the existing MOL and the PSD for the 7 new stations of the EWL.

In order to be considered for prequalification, interested parties having relevant resources, qualifications and experiences are requested to express their interest on or before 14:00 (Hong Kong Time) on 10 February 2012 via the MTR Corporation Limited's E-Tendering System. Late applications will not be considered.

Upon expression of interest, the contractors will receive invitation of prequalification via the E-Tendering System within 2 weeks of 10 February 2012. The contractors shall complete and submit all information and details as required in the invitation via the E-Tendering System no later than the time specified in the prequalification invitation letter.
All invitations and submissions for prequalification and tender will be carried out through the E-Tendering System at http://www.hkextender.com.
