Crystal Palace can confirm that Simon Thomas has been released by mutual consent.
The striker was signed on a two year contract from Ryman Premier Division side, Boreham Wood, for an undisclosed fee in July 2008, but he struggled to make an impact on the first team and instead took several opportunities to go out on loan.
Between October 2008 and January 2010, Simon featured for Grays Athletic, Rotherham United, Ebbsfleet United and Darlington, notching up 22 games in all and scoring three times.
For Palace he managed one substitute appearance in a 2-1 defeat away at Wolves in the Championship when he replaced Paul Ifill after 76 minutes.
