Albion's Joel Lynch is extending his loan stay at Championship side Nottingham Forest until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old defender, who still has an additional 18 months left on his Albion contract, will sign the new loan deal with Forest once the transfer window reopens on 1st January.

The Championship side, who will be responsible for Lynch's wages while he is at the City Ground, will also pay Albion a fee of £25,000, for the period of the loan.

Lynch has already featured 13 times for Forest since joining on loan at the end of September, although he missed their 3-2 win over Norwich City, yesterday, with a hamstring injury.

Meanwhile Steve Thomson looks set to leave Albion once the window opens, after the former Falkirk midfielder expressed his desire to return to Scotland.

Thomson was once again left out of the squad for yesterday's game at Swindon, and a move north of the border is likely to be completed in early January.

Adams said: "Once a player expresses a desire to leave any club where I am the manager that tells me their heart is not really in it.

"That is not knocking Steve, because I think he is a magnificent player and a magnificent professional, but I feel it's important I pick players that want to play for the club."
