A full-back of established Premier League calibre and an England international, Paul joined Leicester from Fulham in July 2011 for an undisclosed fee.

Born in Barking in May 1981, Paul was an academy schoolboy with boyhood club West Ham United, but joined Charlton Athletic soon after his 16th birthday and became the youngest player to make a first team appearance for the Addicks when he lined up against Oxford United in August 1997.

Carving a reputation as one of England's most promising young defenders, Konchesky made over 150 appearances during his eight years at the Valley and was capped by Eriksson for the first time in February 2003.

Following a brief loan spell with Tottenham, Konchesky moved to West Ham United in July 2005, where he continued to impress. During two years with the Hammers, he played 70 times and scored twice, including a memorable goal in the 2006 FA Cup Final in Cardiff's Millennium Stadium.

He passed 350 Premier League appearances after joining Fulham in 2007, before boss Roy Hodgson took him to Liverpool for £3million in August 2010, following his switch to Anfield.

Konchesky spent the second half of the 2010-11 season on loan with Nottingham Forest, where he made 15 appearances and scored once as City's East Midlands rivals made a late surge into the play-offs.
