Darlington have signed Middlesbrough youngster Nathan Porritt on loan.

Colin Todd has brought the attacking midfielder in from neighbours Boro for an initial 28 days.

The 19-year-old England youth international goes straight into Darlo's squad for tomorrow night's game at home to Crewe at the Northern Echo Arena.

Middlesbrough-born Porritt signed professional terms with the club last summer and is one of the most exciting prospects to come through their Academy system.

Although yet to make a senior appearance for the Teessiders, he continued to impress in the reserves last season and also made the first team bench.

Porritt can operate on either wing or as a striker, and has played for England at Under-17s and Under-19s levels.

Todd already has Sunderland youngsters David Dowson and Jamie Chandler on loan at Darlington.
