Darlington are set to sign Aston Villa youngster Jonathan Hogg on loan until January.

The 20-year-old centre midfielder is due to join the Quakers until January 2.

Middlesbrough-born Hogg, who turns 21 next month, is described as a combative midfielder who can score goals, and has featured regularly in Villa's reserves side after recovering from a cruciate knee ligament injury two years ago.

The paperwork for his loan move to the Northern Echo Arena is expected to go through today, and he should be in Steve Staunton's squad for Darlington's trip to Chesterfield on Saturday.
