MightyText gives you the power to:

1) Send SMS text messages from your computer
2) Receive SMS text messages immediately as they come in on your Android device
3) Sync all SMS text messages from your Android device to your computer
4) SMS Backup

Without using a separate phone #. You can send/receive texts on your Android device as you normally would.

The SMS will be Free SMS if you have an unlimited texting plan.

*NOTE* - MightyText sends and receives SMS text messages through your Android - your carrier WILL charge you as if you sent text messages yourself from your phone. If you have an unlimited texting plan, then no additional charge (free SMS).

Requirements:

- Android Phone with v 2.2+ with a working mobile data or wi-fi connection
- Background Data must be enabled on your phone

Installation Steps:

1. Install MightyText Android App

2. Configure MightyText Android App: After the app downloads to your Android, you must choose which Google account to use

*IMPORTANT*: Make sure that you use the same Google account on the Android as you do on the computer

3. Install MightyText Chrome Extension on computer:

*NEW*: Now use FIrefox, Safari or Internet Explorer with MightyText - set up the Android app first and details will be emailed to you.

4. Launch MightyText Chrome Extension: Login securely using the same Google Account you set up in step 3 above

5. Start Texting from computer!

If you are experiencing an error with pushing messages to the phone - please note that we use the same technology as Chrome to Phone or Bluestacks applications. If Chrome2Phone and/or Bluestacks don't work for you because of a network setup problem, then it is possible that MightyText won't work. Please email us about this.

This is different from Google Voice as Google Voice requires you to use a new phone #. We enable Free SMS because we use your phone's own plan.

We've tested MightyText side-by-side with the following apps installed, on Ice Cream Sandwich: Zello, Viber, Textgram, Browsertexting, mysms, Voxer, DeskSMS, Kik Messenger, kakaotalk, Kakao Talk, Life360, Gmail, Gmail Tap, Tweegram, Bluestacks & WhatsApp.

We get lots of feedback from our users that the app is most compatible with Standard Text Messaging app, or Handcent SMS. We have had some users report issues w/ GoSMS, GoSMSPro & Voxr.

Think of this application as a text messenger or text messaging app to send free sms from your computer.

Pls note: MightyText is different from apps like: Skype, Voxer, Whatsapp, Ebuddy,Beluga,Facebook Messenger,MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, Zello, Kik Messenger, Bluestacks, & Voxer - because MightyText syncs with your SMS & Text Messaging app directly on your phone. (keep texting as your normally do!)

We are also different from Google Voice - you can text message and free SMS using your same phone # (very common question). Can also send MMS in our new beta web app.

Note: One use of Google Voice that we do *not* provide is the ability to text using a different phone number.
