Quakecon 2006 comes to an end and the champions have been crowned.

(USA) - Another exciting Quakecon has come to a close with some very good Grand Final matches in each game. The 10th annual Quakecon event taking place at the Anatole Hilton in Dallas, Texas was host to over 5000 gamers and fans this week. The NVIDIA Championship Tournaments at this year's Quakecon featured $100,000 in cash and prizes to the winners. The premier annual event for Quake also featured an 1800 seat BYOC and a plethora of activities aimed at gamers and fans alike. The event boasted over 100,000 square feet of gaming activities including sponsors and exhibitors displaying their latest and greatest games and hardware products. The event was also host to a Quake 4 Quick Draw tournament where random fans were selected to compete for $10,000 in a tribute to 10 years of Quake.

The official tournaments have now completed and winners determined. In RTCW: Enemy Territory, Idle managed to breeze through the competition to take the championship in that tournament.
