Going out, Muddy River Nightmare Band
Portland's Muddy River Nightmare Band plays gritty, no-frills, old-school punk rock, where disorder and disarray is a virtue, not a problem. The band has been at it since at least 2004 (that's how far the show flyers go back on their website), including a few trips to Bend over the years. This weekend, you'll have two chances to catch 'em, first at Third Street Pub in Bend on Saturday and then at Big T's in Redmond on Sunday. At both, they'll be joined by Central Oregon's own scuzz-punks the High Desert Hooligans, plus local bottom-heavy grunge lumberers Shovelbelt. Should be a fun, loud and well-lubricated time.
Three Shows for Jones Road
If you haven't seen Bend's Jones Road do their solid blend of acoustic alt-rock and heavy grooves, this is your week. They play thrice over the next seven days: tonight at Silver Moon, Wednesday at Northside and Thursday at Kelly D's.
