Ashley Benson Exclusive Interview

Ashley BensonAshley Benson spent her days as Abby on Days of Our Lives. but now she’ll strut her stuff in the latest Bring It On flick: Bring It On: In It To Win It. We caught up with Ashley to bring you the scoop on what she’s been up to!

THE STAR SCOOP:
Tell us about Bring It On: In It To Win It.

ASHLEY BENSON:
I worked on Bring It On: In It To Win It, and it’s the fourth [one]. It was a lot of fun, we filmed it in Florida and we had to do tons of cheer practice. It was a lot of fun.

THE STAR SCOOP:
What can you tell us about your character, Carson?

ASHLEY BENSON:
She is really down to earth, really nice. She goes to the cheer camp championships, and she strives to lead her team to victory, because they’ve never won any competition. All she wants to do is win, and there’s so many things that are keeping her from that. It’s a lot of drama. She’s a lot of fun. When she has to, she’s mean too, but she’s really nice.

THE STAR SCOOP:
Will being part of the successful “Bring It On” franchise help your career?

ASHLEY BENSON:
I think so, yeah. There are so many fans that are dedicated to those movies. I think that out of all four of them, it’s going to be really great, because there’s a lot more dancing and cheering in this one than the other ones. It’s a really fun story line. I think that people will like it.

THE STAR SCOOP:
Was it hard to learn all the physical aspects? Had you ever done anything like it before?

ASHLEY BENSON:
No, I hadn’t. I used to dance when I was two, so I could get down the learning part, and doing all the moves and stuff. We had to do all of our own stunts, so that was really hard for me because I’m afraid of heights and we had to be spun in the air and they had to lift us up with one hand. It was crazy. But it was definitely a lot of fun. But it was a challenge.

THE STAR SCOOP:
What do you wan to say to the fans of the “Bring It On” movies?

ASHLEY BENSON:
I just hope that they like the movie. Without them, they wouldn’t do as many Bring It Ons. If one doesn’t do well, and the fans don’t like it, then obviously they’re not going to make any more. Without the fans, we wouldn’t have been able to do this film. I’m just excited for them to see it and I hope they really like it.

THE STAR SCOOP:
What do you do these days, besides acting? Do you have time?

ASHLEY BENSON:
I always stay pretty busy, because I’m in school. I’m doing home school, and I’m trying to graduate early, so I’ve been really busy with school work. I really don’t have time to do a lot of stuff because I’m always busy with auditions and going to different events and then school. That really keeps me busy?

THE STAR SCOOP:
You were on Days of Our Lives. How did working on a movie differ from what you’d done before?

ASHLEY BENSON:
I thought that everything went a lot slower because on the soap opera, you can do two to three episodes a day, whereas on the movie set, you could do one scene, spend all day on it. That was definitely weird. Everyday we’d spend hours and hours on one or two scenes a day. That was for the most part the biggest difference. It wasn’t too bad, but it was a lot of fun.

THE STAR SCOOP:
What will you do after Bring It On? What’s next?

ASHLEY BENSON:
I just found out that I got a movie. I’m actually going to Florida to film it. It’s with William H. Macy. I’m really excited to work with him because he’s a really good actor.
