ET Research Articles
It is also possible to submit entire research articles for publication. Articles will appear in our featured articles section "ET Research" and "ET Reviews".

Publication in Encyclopedia Titanica ensures the largest possible audience for your research and may include, biographies, technical papers, discussion papers, book or film reviews etc.

Articles can be about the Titanic, ocean liners or general maritime history.

It doesn't matter if your article is controversial or provocative so long as it is intended to deepen our knowledge and promote debate and further research. The only condition is that the article is relevant and original.

1. Exclusive Articles

There are several advantages to publishing your work exclusively on ET.

  • More editorial time will be spent making your article look as good as possible.
  • It will be featured for longer and will receive more publicity.
  • Exclusive research articles are guaranteed front page banner coverage.

2. Non Exclusive articles

We may agree to publish articles that have appeared elsewhere or that you intend submitting elsewhere.

As a general rule articles submitted to Encyclopedia Titanica may also be submitted to print journals but must not appear on other websites.

You may need to obtain the agreement of the previous publisher before your submit the article to Encyclopedia Titanica.

How do I submit my article?

Submissions can be made by e-mail or post and may include photographs, tables, video etc.

The editor reserves the right to make reasonable, minor changes to articles prior to publication.

You are responsible for ensuring that your submission does not breach any copyright or trademarks owned by a third party. You must ensure that you have permission for the reproduction of any such material to submission to Encyclopedia Titanica.

It is strongly recommended that you reference your work using standard referencing methods, e.g. Harvard or Vancouver.

Submitted articles, once accepted for publication, may not be subsequently retracted or altered without good reason and the agreement of the editor.

All contributions to Encyclopedia Titanica including articles are accepted on the understanding that the contributor has read and agreed to the Contributor's Agreement.
