Wales manager John Toshack said: 'I am delighted that we will open our home campaign at Cardiff City Stadium. All the players appreciated the atmosphere and great facilities at the stadium when we played Scotland there last November. I feel certain the support we will get will give us a great start to the campaign.'

Cardiff City Chief Executive Gethin Jenkins said: 'We are honoured to stage the important opening match in Wales' European qualifying campaign. Cardiff City Stadium was proud to host the Wales v Scotland friendly game in our opening year and look forward to developing our relationship with the FAW and to providing a facility that we hope will inspire the Welsh squad and fans to victory.'
