Notts County are delighted to announce the signing of Northern Ireland international Jeff Hughes on a two‐year contract, subject to a medical.

Hughes, who worked with Notts coach John Schofield earlier in his career during their time at Lincoln City together, left Bristol Rovers this summer, having scored 11 goals for the Pirates last season and Notts Manager Martin Allen was delighted to have secured his signature.

"I met Jeff a couple of weeks ago at the ground, he's been away on holiday and finally and thankfully we've got this deal done," Allen told the club's official site.

"He's a left-­‐sided player, can play left-­‐back, left-­‐wing, left-­‐side midfield and over the past few years he's been playing 40 games a season and scoring goals."

Hughes arrives a day before the first team squad return from their summer break for pre-­‐season training and will meet his new team-­‐mates on Wednesday.
