Student Opportunities

An initial Student Call-Out was held at Indiana University on Nov. 2nd, 2007, in which twenty (20) students from six (6) different departments on the Indiana University Bloomington campus participated. Building on this, we plan to use this portion of the website to support the development of a community of students worldwide who are interested in Social Informatics (SI). All interested students are encouraged to become involved. Contact the RKCSI Webmaster for further information.

Student Fellows

Graduate students who are interested in Social Informatics may be considered as an RKCSI Student Fellow. Benefits of being an RKCSI Student Fellow include networking with other students interested in social informatics and promoting your social informatics work. To be considered an RKCSI Student Fellow, please submit a brief bio and ask your graduate supervisor/advisor to submit a letter of nomination to

Student Events

Student events for the Rob Kling Center for Social Informatics are open to all interested graduate students and include, but are not limited to:

  • Student social events with guest speaker to discuss theory and methods for Social Informatics research
  • Opportunities for students to discuss research with scheduled RKCSI speakers

RKCSI has a mailing list just for students. Students interested in Social Informatics around the world are welcome to subscribe.
