DICK, David G.
Height: 173 cm
Weight: 66 kg
Debut order: 370
Previous Clubs: Hampton/St Kilda
David Dick was a short for a full-forward. He played three games in 1925 after coming from Hampton Rovers. He kicked six goals in only his second game, a Round 13 win over Carlton. But he was competing with Greg Stockdale for a place in the team and his chances were few so he joined Footscray in 1926 where he played four games.
He was then captain-coach of Sandringham from 1927 to 1929.
He was the son of the great Essendon player, Alick Dick, who captained the Club to four consecutive VFA premierships between 1891 and 1894. His brother, Fred, played six games for Melbourne (1926-1927).
David Dick died in 1985.
