Ivor McIvor was a full-back and key position player who was a good mark and kick but lacked pace.

His career while spanning a number of years was almost totally interrupted by war service in the Army where he served in the Middle East and New Guinea. He played 12 in three seasons over a span of seven years.

McIvor was used as a fill-in by Essendon and he finished up going to Camberwell without a clearance from 1946 to 1948. As a result, the League disqualified him for five years.

He became captain-coach of Brunswick in 1949 and 1950 and went to Euroa in 1951.

McIvor retired to Torquay after many years as a public accountant.

He died on 3rd April, 1997.
