Yamaha aids Slovakian educational facility Akademia Umeni

Slovakian educational establishment The Akademia Umeni (Academy of Arts) has taken stock of a diverse range of Yamaha equipment.

In addition to its continuous use as a teaching facility, the Academy’s theatre stages an array of productions, for which all the technical elements are designed and operated by the students.

Installed by Bratislava-based MediaTech Central Europe, the Yamaha equipment includes an M7CL-48 digital console  - the theatre’s main mixing desk - with two DME24N digital mixing engines. The Academy also features a number of PA systems based on EMX Series powered mixers, with BR series loudspeakers in the rehearsal rooms.

“One of the key advantages of Yamaha equipment is the very short time that students need to learn it,” said Miroslav Paciga, technical director at MediaTech. “With the M7CL’s high quality and outstanding flexibility, it is the ideal console for students to design and operate productions on.”

The theatre’s main PA is mixed as LCR, plus effects and monitor channels. Every performance requires a different setup, so the DME24Ns are used as system processors. These allow students to store, immediately recall and modify different configurations, depending on the type of production. They are also used for loudspeaker, talkback and intercom management.

“We also chose Yamaha equipment because of our positive, long-term experience with it,” Paciga continues. “Together with the reliability, ease of use and flexibility, it has an excellent price to performance ratio and Yamaha’s high quality support is always available.”
