Farid Fata, M.D., F.A.C.P.

Farid Fata, M.D., F.A.C.P. is the founder of Michigan Hematology Oncology, P.C. Dr. Fata is Board Certified in Hematology and Oncology and specializes in all aspects of diagnosis and treatment of hematologic and oncologic disorders.  He has been in private practice since 2000.

Dr. Fata received a Bachelor of Science from Lebanese University in 1992.  He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Maimonides Medical Center, State University of New York, Brooklyn, NY, in 1996.  Dr. Fata attended Cornell University Medical College, NY and completed his Hematology Oncology Fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in 1999.

Dr. Fata has written and published several articles on Hematology and Oncology issues in national journals such as Annals of Internal Medicine, Journal of Clinical Oncology, Cancer and Annals of Oncology.  He lectures regularly at numerous hospitals throughout southeast Michigan.  Dr. Fata is the Principal Investigator on NIH-funded cancer protocols.

Dr. Fata was voted by his peers to be one of the "Top Doc's" in Hematology and Oncology in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 by Hour Detroit Magazine. He has received numerous awards including:  "Outstanding First Year Resident," "Intern of the Year," and multiple clinical research awards.

Pallavi Jasti, M.D.

Pallavi Jasti, M.D. is an associate at Michigan Hematology Oncology, P.C.  Dr. Jasti is Board Certified in Hematology and Oncology.  Dr. Jasti specializes in all aspects of Hematology and Oncology with a special interest in Breast Cancer. She has been practicing Hematology and Oncology since 2009.

Dr. Jasti received a Bachelor of Science from Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad, India in 2001. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Wayne State University, Detroit, in 2006. Her Hematology/Oncology fellowship was done at the Karmanos Cancer Center, Detroit, in 2009.   

Dr. Jasti was recognized as "Intern of the Month" and "Intern of the Year 2003-2004" at Wayne State University for demonstrating excellence in patient care, dedication and outstanding clinical judgement.

Salman Fateh, D.O.

Salman Fateh, D.O. is an associate at Michigan Hematology Oncology, P.C.  Dr. Fateh is Board Certified in Hematology and Oncology.

Dr. Fateh received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Stony Brook, Long Island, NY in 2000.  He completed his Internal Medicine Residency and Hematology Oncology Fellowship at the Hershey Medical Center, Pennsylvania State University in July, 2010 and immediately joined Michigan Hematology Oncology, P.C.

Dr. Fateh was selected Chief Fellow at the Hershey Medical Center in 2009.

Sue Grant, RN, MSN, OCN

Sue Grant brings to Michigan Hematology Oncology a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Ohio State University as well as a Masters in Nursing from Wayne State University.  She is also certified in Oncology Nursing which means that she has the knowledge and expertise to provide exceptional care to patients with an actual or potential diagnosis of cancer.

Sue will assess and evaluate symptoms related to treatment and provide options for minimizing these issues.  She will also provide education about your diagnosis and treatment.  Sue works closely with patients to formulate a plan to improve their health and well being.  This plan could incorporate MHO resources such as a meeting with our Oncology Social Worker or utilizing Swan for Life Cancer Foundation services or Wellness program options.

Sue is a member of both the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) as well as the Metro Detroit Chapter of ONS.  She also belongs to the Michigan Society of Hematology and Oncology.

Farah Alrais, PA-C

Farah Alrais is a certified Physician Assistant with Michigan Hematology Oncology, P.C.   

Farah received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Detroit Mercy, Detroit, MI in 2004.  She completed her Masters of Science in Medicine from Western Michigan University in December, 2010 and immediately joined Michigan Hematology Oncology, P.C. 

Farah did her clinical rotations at the following hospitals in the Detroit area:  VA Hospital, St. John Main Hospital, University of Michigan and Beaumont Hospital. 

Farah is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistant. 

Her hobbies include reading, traveling, cooking, gardening and spending time with family.  She is fluent in English, Arabic and Chaldean.
