I first found Tony, Caro and John a few years ago while trolling a Brooklyn Vegan thread wherein an anon pointed out that a favorite Beach House song of mine-- "Lovelier Girl"-- had been lifted from "The Snowdon Song", both musically and lyrically. The minimal/non-existant liner notes included with my self-released copy of Beach House's self-titled hazecore classic didn't disclose the origins of "Lovelier Girl", and I was reluctant to abandon my affection for a song that I had enjoyed so much-- even on grounds of plagiarism. To my relief, I wasn't the only dweeb reading Brooklyn Vegan comments. Gaarden Records recently reissued Tony, Caro and John's exquisite acid folk album All On The First Day, which turned out being way more than the song that led me there. --Ric Leichtung, International Tapes
