What's New?
Derived from GM's Motorama, the word "Motoramic" came from the ad wizards at Chevrolet in 1954 to describe their '55 models. Fast forward half a century, and designer Harley Earl's promise inspires the name of our new blog. Motoramic—fresh, bold, fast, fun, and just a bit nostalgic—covers the world of cars and the people driven by them.
Going Green
John Metric of Lake Jackson, Texas converted his 1984 Pontiac Fiero into an electric drag racer. Using two DC motors and 175 lbs of lithium-ion batteries to generate 862 hp, the DC Plasma snaps off 60 mph runs in 2.3 seconds, and can hit 155 mph at the drag strip.
Auto Shows
China's annual auto show, which alternates between Beijing and Shanghai, is closer to the Great Wall this year. In fact, Great Wall is one of the car companies displaying concepts, along with more familiar brands like Honda, Jeep, MG, and Rolls-Royce.
