Ron Paul third party run would hurt President Obama, new poll finds

As Ron Paul continues to cause commotion in the Republican Party, a recent Rasmussen poll tested what likely voters would do if the Texas Congressman ran in the general election as an independent. In a three-way race, 44 percent of likely voters said they would vote for Mitt Romney, while 39 percent chose Barack Obama and 13 percent chose Paul.

Poll: A Latino VP does nothing to boost Hispanic support for Mitt Romney

In Florida, President Obama is the frontrunner and actually fares better against Mitt Romney with Marco Rubio on the ticket than without the Florida senator as Romney’s running mate. The PPP survey showed Hispanic support for Obama-Biden at 51 percent and a Romney-Rubio ticket at 44 percent.

Texas Reps. John Carter, Pete Sessions and Mac Thornberry endorse Mitt Romney

The endorsements come as a new phone survey taken by Rasmussen reports found that Romney had taken a narrow lead in the Texas Republican race with 32 percent of likely Republican primary voters’ support, compared to Rick Santorum’s 30 percent, Newt Gingrich’s 19 percent and fellow Texan Ron Paul’s 9 percent.

TexMessage: U.S. voters strongly favor Democrats over GOP on energy

Gas prices are up, and Americans are very unhappy. You don’t need to look at the latest public opinion poll to know that.

But the latest poll out there — the new Pew Research Center survey — contains a couple of surprising results. More Americans approve of President Obama’s handling of energy policy than did at the beginning of the year.

Santorum holds 8-point lead in new Texas presidential poll

A new survey by the the GOP polling firm of Wilson Perkins Allen Opinion Research gave Rick Santorum an 8 percentage point lead over Republican presidential frontrunner Mitt Romney in Texas.

The former Pennsylvania senator took 35 percent in the poll of 750 likely Texas Republican primary voters, followed by Romney (27 percent), Newt Gingrich (20 percent) and Ron Paul (8 percent). Ten percent of Texas Republicans remain undecided.

Poll: Romney leads three-way race in Texas — but would lose to Santorum one-on-one

Texas voters still have a while before they weigh in with their choice for the Republican presidential nominee, but a new poll pegs Mitt Romney as the frontrunner — barely. In a March 12 Rasmussen Reports poll, likely voters from Texas weighed in with their opinion of the GOP hopefuls, as well as Texas Governor Rick Perry. (Hint: They like Perry. Newt, not so much.)
