TexMessage: Joe Barton says supporters of ObamaCare ‘are living in a dream world’
Twenty-seven of President Barack Obama’s corporate advisers said that the Obama health care mandate will increase costs, which Obama wrote off as a “partisan report.”
Joe Barton, who is on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, was featured on Fox News to defend the report.
“They have looked at the Obama health care law and come up with the obvious conclusions that it’s going to raise healthcare costs and cost a lot more money, not just to corporate America, but to average Americans who have to pay for the new mandates out of their own pocket,” said the Republican from Arlington.

TexMessage: Joel Osteen of Houston’s Lakewood Church is introduced by Sheila Jackson Lee as guest chaplain of the House
Congresswomen Sheila Jackson Lee takes the House floor with a different purpose in mind: to introduce Joel Olsteen, the head pastor of Lakewood, one of Houston’s mega churches that occupies what used to be the Compaq Center.
Olsteen will be speaking at National’s Park on Saturday, but on Tuesday, he served as guest chaplain for the U.S. House of Representatives.
“Joel Olsteen has taught us to embrace God’s grace and mercy,” said the Democrat from Houston. “I am delighted that Lakewood started in a feed-stock store in the 18th Congressional district.”

TexMessage: Sen. Cornyn believes the Senate Judiciary Hearing on Arizona’s immigration laws will do more for Obama’s reelection than to repair the immigration system
Though Sen. John Cornyn will not attend tomorrow’s Supreme Court hearing, Arizona v. United States, the Republican from San Antonio believes that the case will do little to help the immigration issue in the United States, but will do more to help President Obama’s reelection.
“This hearing does nothing to advance immigration reform in Congress or otherwise fix our broken system,” said Cornyn. “It is no more than election-year theater.”
