Well, they weren't lying when they said TCAF was one of the best comics shows in North America. We'll have a longer write-up and more pictures once we get some sleep but here's a photo or two to keep you going.
Continue ReadingThe weekend box office estimates are in and Avengers looks to have set a few records, the most significant being largest opening weekend. (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was the previous record holder and still holds the opening day record.) Initial estimates place the Avengers at $200.3 million for weekend.

Continue Readingby Mike Scigliano The first thing I do when I get to any comicon is grab a program guide to get the lay of the land, that is if I haven't already downloaded a copy of the floor plan to check it out beforehand. A little science fiction element here, a bit of horror there, perhaps a dash of deadpan satire or maybe a little pulp detective. I've heard him described as a mainstay of "weird fiction." Any way you slice it, he's a prominent author and I highly recommend his novel "The City & The City," a detective/espionage novel with a bizarre psychological conceit that might not quite qualify for the SF/F category (where it's normally shelved) but seems a little out of place in mysteries. Whatever you want to call him, he's a prominent, bestselling writer and now he's doing comics.
