1807/08: Napoleon occupies Berlin

When Napoleon's troops occupy Berlin, the company's receipts are seized and the warehouses in Breslau (Wrocław) and Warsaw are auctioned off to the benefit of the French authorities. The French occupiers leave a long-term impact on KPM's business, and the company subsequently suffers significant losses.

1814: New colours

Christoph Georg Frick, KPM arcanist, develops a brilliant and refined scale of green on the basis of chromium oxide. And a new black-grey combination on the basis of iridium. Porcelain painting now shares certain similarities with oil painting.

1855: The first sales gallery

The KPM warehouse is converted into a modern shop with showcases, shelves and display windows.
