The electronic duo’s instrumental song “Deep Shadow” played in the movie’s trailer.
We can remember where we were when we first watched the trailer for The Hunger Games. As Katniss stepped forward and shrieked, “I volunteer as tribute,” a moving musical number played in the background as we silently sobbed. Now, singer Tying Tiffany and electronic producer and composer Lorenzo Montana, who make up T.T.L., have released a new version of their song “Deep Shadow.” The vocals add a new age, electronic element to the slow, heavy beats.
Denver-based band The Lumineers have been around for a few years, but it was at South By Southwest this month that they really started drawing the attention they deserve. Picking up praise everywhere from The New York Times to Paste, this folksy trio--who sounds a bit like an unplugged version of Arcade Fire--is set to release their debut album a week from today. In anticipation of the launch of their self-titled album, they shared a brand new video for "Dead Sea," a twangy little love song that's sure to be a hit.
The band has been selling out shows across the country, and they're sure to be a mainstay on the summer concert circuit, so head over to TheLumineers.com to preview the album now and purchase it next Tuesday.
Although The Pierces are perhaps best known for singing the theme of Pretty Little Liars, the duo has other songs that are certainly worth a listen. They shared this exclusive live performance of their latest single "Love You More" from their upcoming album You & I (out Monday! pre-order here!) and it couldn't be cooler (and we're not just saying that because we'd love to be in London in this dreamy music venue right this second).
So Alabama-bred, New York-based sisters are kicking off their tour with Coldplay in a few weeks, but if you're not lucky enough to catch them live, watching this video a time or two will do.
YouTube cover stars—and real-life couple!—Karmin's "swag rock" out on their debut album.
After graduating from the prestigious Berklee College of Music with degrees in trombone performance and professional music, what's next? That's what Nick Noonan and Amy Heidemann of YouTube phenomenon Karmin were asking themselves just last year.
"We both had day jobs. Nick worked at a boxing gym. I was a wedding singer, Adam Sandler-style," says Amy. So the duo—together both professionally and personally—started covering chart-topping songs on YouTube, just for fun. They chose the moniker Karmin, a combination of carmen, which is Latin for "song," and karma, because, as Nick says, "We needed to put out good vibes."
Even if you're not a Cody Simpson fan (yet!), this Aussie singer's new single featuring T-Pain is sure make you swoon. "So Listen," the first song off his first full-length album that's slated for summer, premiered on YouTube earlier this week and hit iTunes yesterday. We definitely recommend downloading ASAP, but not before catching Cody performing an amazing acoustic version.
This tune--which is very Justin Timberlake circa 2002 in the absolute best way possible--is sure to be stuck in your head the rest of the day, and that's definitely a good thing.
As promised yesterday, Jacqueline Emerson, star of The Hunger Games, is releasing her brand new single "Catch Me If You Can" right here, right now. Check out the music video, and then read on to hear the singer-slash-actress spill about writing songs, going to college, and playing Foxface.
Have you always been into music? Always. When I did my first acting production, I was six years old and it was Annie, so it was also a musical. Right off the bar started with both music and acting.
Tell us a little bit about your new single "Catch Me If You Can." How's it different than your debut song? If you've heard "Peter Pan," it's more of a low-key song. It's very personal. Just me playing a piano, which is the way that I wrote it and recorded it. "Catch Me If You Can" is a lot more upbeat and a lot more pop. More of a dance tune, but there's also a deeper message to it, like all of the songs I do. It's about running away from your past and I don't know if you necessary hear that when you hear the song, but that's what I had in mind.
I wrote it last year, and then I booked The Hunger Games and so we held on to it. When we initially filmed it, we had it in this small studio space. But because it's a dance song, it needed to have more so we re-filmed it on the beach with me and my friends. Read more >>

We're completely obsessed with the vid Biebs, Selena, Big Time Rush, and Ashley Tisdale made for Carly Rae Jepsen's song "Call Me Maybe." So much so, in fact, that it's kind of killing us softly that the single is no longer available on iTunes (probably because she was just signed to Schoolboy Records, the label run by Justin's manager Scooter Braun). Carly, who was the third runner up on the fifth season of Canada's American Idol, is jumping on the express train to stardom alongside fellow Idol runner-ups Katharine McPhee and Jennifer Hudson who eclipsed the success of (most) actual Idol winners!
