Microsoft Going for “Instant On” Windows?

Instant on Windows?

PC Pro reported that Microsoft is surveying customers whether they interested to have a “Instant On” Windows.

This might be an indicator that the next version of Windows, Windows 7 will equip with such feature – a one press instant start Windows so that current users can stop complaining about (or tweaking) the startup time of their Windows.

Well, not a brand new concept but it is a good idea to have such feature.

Anyway, check out this interesting article, Microsoft muses “Instant On” Windows from PC Pro:

Apple’s Hidden Propaganda Against Windows

“Apple is helping Microsoft to promote its Blue Screen of Death!”

It sounds funny and well probably a little awkward isn’t it? One of my blog readers, Miguel send this tip to me few days ago.

He bumped on this out of no where… He was trying to setup his network his MacBook to connect to a Windows-PC on his Local Area Network. Here is a screenshot he took:

Apple_marketing_windows_BSOD

I discovered that the icon that my Mac OS X Leopard shows for all Windows based PCs is a computer monitor with the famous BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH… I simply laughed my arse off.

This might be an Ester Egg surprise from Apple but definitely a ‘no-good’ sign for Microsoft.

Well, I’m not sure Bill Gates knows about this.

Credit goes to Miguel!

Live.com Redesigned

Windows_live_logoLittle did I know that Microsoft’s search brand, Live.com has been redesigned – not to a great extend but slightly. If you are not a Live Search users (I bet most of you are!) you barely can notice it. The redesigned Live.com has been seen live since last Wednesday for US visitors.

The new page looks just like before except it now features a dynamic background picture that will change periodically. The photo features a few blurry squares that will show up on mouse over and if for another few seconds, a box will pop up with a message link that brings user to a page with additional information including maps and photos.

People Left Google for Microsoft?

Google_microsoft

I bumped into this very interesting article, Working at Microsoft vs. working at Google. Guess what? According to Microsoft’s Windows Live Platform program manager, Dare Obasanjo, more and more people had hopped over from Google to Microsoft or had chosen to join Microsoft over Google.

I was little surprised when this article came across. Well you see, According to Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work for 2008, Google is above every other company, and Microsoft is poorly ranked at 86th, not even in the top 50! Based on 2007 list, Microsoft not even in the top 100. Surprising huh?
