This week's RetroCity returns to the subject of videogames music -- specifically the Commodore 64. The Commodore 64 may look ancient now, but its audio chip -- SID -- was capable of producing some incredible music in the hands of a talented composer. Fortunately, there were some real stars of the SID working in the industry during the height of the C64's lifecycle, such as Rob Hubbard and Paul Norman. Check out some excellent classic tunes from games like Loopz, The Last V8, and One Man and His Droid. Then weep about how licensed music has taken over games.
