SHIMMER Volume 33 Taping Results
Posted by Larry Csonka on 09.11.2010

SPARKLE (Pre-Show)
* Mia Yim and Taylor Made def. Mena Libra and Maya Svensson. Mia picks up the win via roundhouse kick. Good showing by all four girls, Mia and Mena in particular.

SHIMMER Volume 33
1. Jessica James & Rachel Summerlyn def. Athena & Bonesaw Jessie Brooks. Rachel and Jessica win with a gory bomb/stunner combo on Athena. Good match by all the girls. Athena was the standout. Her moveset and spoiled brat gimmick is very entertaining.

2. Cat Power def. Jamilia Craft. tCat Power wins via uranage slam. Very slow paced match-up. Not the best showing from either girl, but a decent match.

Amber interviews Jessie McKay but Madison Eagles interferes and takes over the interview. Amber announces Melissa vs Madison for the title. Madison says, "It's all about ME!"

3. Allison Danger def. Leva Bates. Danger wins via shimmering warlock. After the match Danger puts over Leva and Veronika Vice tries to run in and attack her. Danger asks why she's here and Veronika says she wants her shot against Danger and challenges her for the next volume.

4. Melanie Cruise def. Taylor Made. Cruise wins via Cruise Control. Melanie completely dominated Made in a total squash match.

Melissa appears on screen and calls out Eagles. Says she's tired of getting screwed out of the title. Says she going home with gold tonight.

5. Misaki Ohata def. Ariel. Ohata wins by submission. Surpisingly good match. Best I've seen Ariel in a long time. Misaki pulled out several submissions during the match-up.

Kellie Skater comes out and challenges anyone in the locker room. Her challenge is answered by Serena!!!

6. Serena def. Kellie Skater. Serena via spear. Skater dominated after Serena misses a spear in the corner, but makes the comeback in the end. The crowd goes wild and chants ‘Welcome back!' Serena celebrates with the fans and looks very emotional. Very touching moment.

7. Sara Del Rey def. Nevaeh. Del Rey wins via LaBell Lock. Shocker… but Neveah put up a good fight and almost got the win with a Sliced Bread #2.

Amber Gertner is in the ring and introduced Nikki Roxx (who looks great!). Nikki says she's been in the company for years and wants to get some gold around her waist.

8. Jessie McKay def. Nicole Matthews. McKay via Boyfriend Stealer. Brutal match that spilled to ringside. Best match up so far. Didn't know these two had it in them.

9. Daizee Haze vs Ayumi Kurihara in a rematch from Vol. 32. It's announced that the match is no countout. DD's Jennifer just got into it with Daizee. Epic. Daizee is getting some crazy heat! Kurihara via exploder suplex. Best match of the day so far! Jennifer has dropped about 80 F-bombs. A must see!

10. Ayako Hamada def. Tomoka Nakagawa with the Hamada Driver. Best match so far. Crowd very into both. Lots of hard hitting outside the ring action. Chairs and even water bottles were used in the offense.

11. Madison Eagles def. Cheerleader Melissa with the Hellbound finisher. As Melissa entered she said, "It's Team Diva Dirt!" Lots of submissions and counters. Madison is very over as a heel champ.

Nothing like reporters marking out for themselves.

Didn't "Jennifer" (if that's his real name) of Diva Dirt know that Shimmer is supposed to be a family friendly product?

SHIMMER needs a TV deal, although I've heard they may not prefer doing TV. Either way, more people need to watch/support them and stop with the WWE Divas, who are ruining the perception of female wrestlers worldwide.

Mia Yim should have been signed by TNA after her tryout match there in the summer. She's hot, got a unique look and can wrestle.

Yes, because you like it, so, clearly, it means everyone else would be interested in seeing it, too.

What an unbelievably glib statement.

If they had a TV deal, it'd receive stupid remarks by smarks like the ones on here who are all anti-indy much like the ones who flood the ROH news items (who are no HDNet).

It'd also give its fanbase a reason to whine since they'd complain that match timing will have to be reduced and the product watered down or something.

"What an unbelievably glib statement."

Not really. Fans of the product seem baffled as to why WWE prefers the Divas over a SHIMMER-style women's division, never stopping to consider that maybe, just maybe, the public demand for serious women's wrestling is much, much smaller than the public's demand to see hot girls in sexy outfits.

Jesus why can't people just like what wrestling product they want, mainstream or indy, without making personal attacks about what others like? It's wrestling for crying out loud. Live and let live. These wrestlers whether they work for WWE, TNA, ROH, SHIMMER or overseas have no bearing on our lives. So can we stop with the name calling?

The public demand to see sports entertainment more than pro-wrestling in general. Pure wrestling does not massively draw in America whether it's male or female.

"The public demand to see sports entertainment more than pro-wrestling in general. Pure wrestling does not massively draw in America whether it's male or female."

It's also a lack of interest in women's wrestling and lack of demand for something different that what WWE does with the Divas.
