Geelong has upgraded rookie Jesse Stringer to the senior list and placed Nathan Vardy on the long term injury list.
Stringer has been a rookie listed player since 2010 and impressed during this year’s NAB Cup and in the Cats three opening VFL contests. He played in all five pre-season games with the Cats.
Stringer was hampered by hip and knee injuries in his first two seasons with the Cats, but now fully fit, he is in exceptional form.
The 21 year old Stringer is now eligible for senior selection.
Vardy has been out with a hip injury since round 21 last year. He joins Daniel Menzel (ACL) on the long term injury list. Vardy played nine games in his first season.
