St Peters Stonnall is a very friendly church and we enjoy welcoming new people of all ages.
Our church building is on Church Road, at the top of a hill just south of the village. Most members are very actively involved in many Stonnall village activities and organisations. We are also delighted that we work in active partnership with our local Stonnall C of E Primary school (St Peters). Stonnall won Staffordshire Village of the Year in 2008 for its quality of community life.
We hold services every Sunday at St Peters church, with the main service normally at 10h45. We hold special evening services from time to time, such as Ash Wednesday and Lessons and Carols. Our popular, new "Sunday Special" activity afternoons for children and families are held on the 3rd Sunday of most months at 4 pm . They take place in the Youth & Community Hut, next to the school on Main Street.
Church members run a busy and varied programme of enjoyable social events throughout the year.
A home group meets on Sunday evenings for those wishing to deepen their understanding of the Christian faith in a friendly, comfortable setting. The group meet about once every three weeks.
A Friends of St Peters Church Stonnall association was established in 2008, which is open to all. It is now seeking independent charity status. English Heritage have given our modest church building Grade II listed status.
St Peters enjoys a close relationship with the neighbouring parish of St Johns, Shenstone, with whom we share a vicar, the Revd Fred Olney. Some joint services are held.
For queries about weddings, baptisms and funerals please contact the vicar. Our vicar also regularly takes funeral services, held either in the church or at the crematorium. St Peters churchyard is open for full burials or burials of cremated remains. Requests for these are made via the vicar. Please use his postal address to contact us as our church building has no letter box.
We hope you will come to St Peters Stonnall and look forward to meeting you soon.
