Worldview Entertainment has come on board to finance and produce Guillaume Canet's crime thriller "Blood Ties," a remake of the 2008 French pic "Les Liens du sang" (Rivals).

"Blood Ties" stars Clive Owen, Billy Crudup, Marion Cotillard, Mila Kunis, Zoe Saldana, Matthias Schoenaerts, Noah Emmerich, Lili Taylor, Domenick Lombardozzi and James Caan. Shooting starts in New York city on April 30.

Wild Bunch is handling international sales on the French co-production and will jointly sell North American rights with CAA.

Pic, which will be Canet's first English language pic, centers on two brothers, on either side of the law, who face off over organized crime in Brooklyn during the 1970s. Canet starred in "Rivals," from writer-director Jacques Maillot.

"Blood Ties," penned by Canet and James Gray, is produced by Alain Attal and Hugo Selignac of Les Productions du Tresor, John Lesher of Le Grisbi Prods. and Worldview CEO Christopher Woodrow. Worldview's Molly Conners, Sarah Johnson Redlich, Maria Cestone and Hoyt David Morgan will exec produce with Kerry Orent, Christopher Goode and Xavier Amblar.

Wild Bunch's Vincent Maraval is an associate producer.

New York City-based Worldview recently wrapped production on James Gray's untitled romantic drama starring Marion Cotillard, Joaquin Phoenix and Jeremy Renner. It will debut Eran Creevy's British crime thriller, "Welcome to the Punch," starring James McAvoy and Mark Strong, later this year and will be in theaters with William Friedkin's black comedy, "Killer Joe," starring Matthew McConaughey, Emile Hirsch, Thomas Haden Church, Juno Temple and Gina Gershon.
