Written Summary   Table One   Table Two   Graphs
Notes:
1. Mean daily temperature and pressure are averaged from the standard 24 hourly observations and not as the average of the maximum and minimum values.
2. Precipitation day has = or >0.01". Trace amounts (< 0.01") are not included in data.
3. Departures from the normal are based on the 1971 to 2000 normals where available (with the exception of the Sea Surface Temperature, which is based on the 1985 to 2000 normal).
Notes:
1. Mean humidity is averaged from the standard 24 hourly observations.
2. Weather Notes indicate a specific condition was observed at least once that day.
3. Departures from the normal are based on the 1971 to 2000 normals where available (with the exception of the Sea Surface Temperature, which is based on the 1985 to 2000 normal).
Key:
PN = Precipitation, PC = Partly Cloudy, MC = Mostly Cloudy, OV = Overcast, DZ = Drizzle, SH = Showers, BS = Blowing Spray GR = Hail, FC = Funnel Cloud, HZ = Haze, RA = Rain, BR = Mist, TS = Thunder Storm/Shower

The first day of June started with showers and thunderstorms with 0.51 inches of rainfall. Clearing then providing 11.8 hours of sunshine. The high was 77F/25C and the low 70F/21C. June 2nd was mainly fair but cloudy as high pressure retreated and a cold front approached from the west. There was a trace of rainfall, and only 3.5 hours of sunshine. The was 78F/25C, and the low was 70F/21C. Sunday the 3rd started with a frontal trough moving in which brought 0.19 inches of rainfall and a gust to gale force. Even after it passed, only 2.6 hours of sunshine were recorded. The high was 79F/26C, and the low 72F/22C. Monday the 4th saw weak ridging developing behind the frontal trough. Settled conditions ensued with low humidity and 12.1 hours of sunshine. The high was 77F/25C, and the low 71F/22C. A cold front passed on the 5th, with strong winds (peak gust to 38kts), showers (0.14"), and a thunderstorm. The high reached 77F/25C after a low of 70F/21C, under 2.3hrs of sun. Wednesday the 6th was mainly cloudy as a frontal trough lingered in the area. While it only produced 0.01 inch of rain, it allowed only 2.6 hours of intermittent sunshine. The temperature still managed to hit the highest mark so far this year with a high of 81F/27C, and a low of 72F/22C. A semi-stationary frontal trough persisted over the region on Thursday the 7th with showers and thunderstorms which produced 0.41 inches of rainfall and allowed only 0.4 hours of sunshine. The high was 80F/26C and the low 70F/21C. A semi-stationary front continued to produce unsettled conditions through Friday the 8th. There was 0.27 inches of rainfall and only 0.1 hour of sunshine. Between the rain and the cloud cover, the high only reached 74F/23C, while the low fell to 66F/19C. On the 9th, dry high pressure built in behind the eastward-passing front after a trace of rain, with 9.7 hours of sun, a low of 68F/20C and a high of 76F/24C. Surface high pressure held dominant on the 10th and 11th, with 12.7 and 12.3 hours of sun respectively, highs of 76-77F/25C and lows of 69-70F/21C. The 12th began with a southward-moving line of light showers which gave us 0.03" of rain, but the dominant surface ridge to the west allowed for 13.0 hours of sun, and moderate northerly winds held the high to 75F/24C after a low of 69F/21C. The 13th was essentially fine, dry and sunny (over 10 hours) as a weak ridge axis approached from the west. Moderate northwest breezes eased light in the evening. Temperatures were still a little depressed on the seasonal average, with a high of 75F/24C after a low of 69F/21C once again. Thursday the 14th saw rather more cloudy skies developing (7.7 hours of sun) as low pressure developed to the near west. During the evening some patchy light rain developed bringing a trace to the airport. West winds gradually backed south and increased moderate. This helped temperatures recover to near 78F/25C. Friday the 15th saw the greatest amount of rainfall in a single day this month 2.59 inches. Moderate to heavy rainfall for about 5 hours straight, as a low pressure system moved from our near west to the south. Massive street flooding was reported throughout Bermuda during that time frame. Cloudy skies all day (0.0 hours of sun) Southeast winds gradually backed east-northeast and increased moderate. This helped temperatures stay well below average, high of 74F/23C and a low of 69/20. Saturday the 16th saw mostly cloudy skies all day (5.8 hours of sun) due to a low center to the south, moving off to the northeast, and another low center approaching from the southeast. Moderate occasionally strong east-northeast winds dominated through most of the day, decreasing to moderate by late afternoon. Temperatures again stayed a few degrees below average, high of 76F/25C and a low of 70/21. Sunday the 17th was wet and windy as a low center stalled and deepened over the area. Sustained winds averaged 40 knots for the day with the highest gust of 56 knots recorded. The low moved away to the north overnight leaving the day with a high of 73.4F/23.0C a record low of 66.7F/19.3C and 3.3 hours of sunshine. Monday the 18th saw high pressure beginning to set up over the area. The high reached 78.4F/25.8C with winds becoming light and 13.0 hours of sunshine. On the 19th, high pressure remained just to the west, with light winds, 11.4 hours of sunshine, a high of 77F/25C and a low of 71F/22C.
