Parents evening last night was a horror show. Anyone got any ideas on how to make a 12 year-old do some sodding work?

Just watched the trailer for Hitman Absolution, astonishing stuff. I've never played any of the previous installments, but I may be tempted to give this a go. I do like the fetishisation of main stream culture...

DnD last night, 2 hours long battle vs zombies, cultists and priest. the cultists died easily but were brought back as zombies by the priest. made for a long battle till we managed to get people severing their spines after dropping them to the ground. eventually all the minions were dead and we charged the necromancer, who ran away though a secret passage.

Games? None - did you see the weather? After an incredibly dry local RFU dinner on Friday, full of old fart back slapping like only the great game can produce, I went on a tour of the Adnams brewery on Saturday which was rather excellent. Then proceeded to spend much of the weekend barbecuing. Pretty damn spectacular weekend. Hope it stays like this for the long weekend!

Dragon's Dogma arrived last night (ah lovely Shopto and your early preorders). Ended up staying up 2 hours later than I should have. I can see this game eating vast chunks of my time. Spent almost an hour just looking at other people's pawns before deciding which to hire. Seems quite difficult, but not on the same scale as Dark Souls. Did notice a bit of slow drop in for enemies at some points (which is a bit irritating) but nothing game breaking thus far. Game starts with one of the demo missions. Am now slightly annoyed that I have to go to the Lake District this weekend (only annoyed that I have to go with extended family, all in-laws) instead of gaming.
