Jack Hobbs will avoid the temptations and indulgences of the festive season by heading out for a Christmas Day run.
Although the Tigers will be in for training on Friday and Christmas Eve, they have officially been given a day 'off' on Christmas Day, but City captain Hobbs says he will be keeping himself sharp for the Boxing Day trip to Middlesbrough with a morning run before settling down for a quiet, relaxing day with his family.
"It will be nice to spend a bit of time with my family and I'll be avoiding the indulgences that are around at this time of year," said Hobbs.
"It's nice that we'll have Christmas Day off and it's good that the manager trusts us to look after ourselves. If the lads feel the need to go out for a jog on Christmas Day then they will, as long as we're sharp for Middlesbrough on Boxing Day, that is the main thing.
"I'll be heading out for a run myself. The last couple of Christmas Days I've gone down to the local park with my mate, so we'll probably keep that little tradition going."
Having won the last four games, the Tigers go into Christmas fourth in the Championship table and Hobbs says the spirit in the City camp is fantastic at the moment.
"Confidence is high and to win four games on the trot is great," added the defender.
"There are lots of positives to come out of the recent run as well. We've created plenty of chances and kept a couple of clean sheets, so it's been very pleasing.
"I think we've got the ability to mix it up when we need to and deal with what the opposition throw at us.
"To be up there in the mix at the moment is great for us and hopefully we can crack on and improve on things."
