My Workout Music For Success

Posted: 06/27/2012 8:18 am

Music is my passion. It's allowed me to get where I am today, and my success in the industry helped me start other projects and businesses. I don't listen to just one genre, so my music collection and playlists reflect all types of artists and music. Through my personal interpretation, each artist or individual track inspires me; they all bring something different to the table.

"Telescope" -- Wiz Khalifa feat. 50 Cent
"Queens, N.Y." -- 50 Cent, feat. Precious Paris
"Do Your Thing" -- Precious Paris
"You So Tough" -- G Unit
"Straight Outta Southside" -- G Unit
"Let It Go" - G Unit
"Here We Go Again" -- Governor Washington
"Do It Again (Put Ya Hands Up)" -- Jay-Z
"NI$$AS BE SCHEMIN" -- Kidd Kidd
"Riot Remix" -- 2 Chainz feat. 50

No, no!
If it's a funky, totally enjoyable workout you want, you can't do any better than a mix heavy on Isley Brothers, Michael Jackson, and Isaac Hayes, to wit:
Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood--Santa Esmerelda (when you really need it)
Now that We Found Love--Third World (long version only)
Do You Wanna Funk--Sylvester (more than once)
Gypsy Man--War (for the grind-y middle)
That's Back Atcha--Smokey Robinson
Am I the Same Girl--Swing Out Sister
I'm Gonna Love You Just a Little Bit More--Barry White (long version only)
All Around the World--2-Pac (if you don't know it, you should)
Vehicle--Ides of March
Holy Ghost--Bar Kays
Inside You, Who's that Lady, Fight the Power--Isley Brothers
All Night Thing--Invisible Man's Band (whew!)
Don't Let Go--Isaac Hayes
Hyperbolic...,I Want to be where you are, Heartbreak Hotel,Looking thru the windows, Ain't No Sunshine, We're Almost there (for the bridge)--Jackson 5, Michael Jackson
It's Raining Men--the Weather Girls
Wild Thing--Tone Loc
Bust A Move--Young MC
Early in the Morning--the Gap Band
Green Grass and High Tides--the Outlaws (long version only)
Wild Thing--Kylie Minogue
Don't know what it is, but it sure is funky--Ripple (warm up)
Unchain My Heart--Joe Cocker (long version only)
Fantastic Voyage--Lakeside
Smooth--oh, hell, I'm losing my mind

Excellent, Now this is what you call a playlist!! Take note, fiddy. This is what you call "many genres"!
1 hour ago ( 4:24 PM)
that playlist is much more tolerable than what fiddy recommends. though i usually listen to high energy dance music and/or 70s classic rock like Billy Squier's "The Stroke" and Heart.

In my own opinion the best music to listen to when working out is deep and dark progressive house, Moshic, Deep L and Deepness, Dj Duma, Frangelico, etc, etc. Other than prog there are some songs which can really pump up your mood:
BYOB - System of a Down
Run to the Hills - Iron Maiden
Hypnotize - Notorious BIg
Scism - Tool
The Kill - 30 Seconds to Mars
Next Hype ( Dubstep Remix) - Tempa T
Dr. SIn - Chasing Shadows
Spiral - Robert Nickson
Prison Song - System of a Down
Adagio for Strings ( Fred baker remix) - Tiesto

Most of you have poor reading comprehension skills. He said, "I don't listen to just one genre, so my music collection and playlists reflect all types of artists and music."

I don't think that what is reflected here is his only playlist and certainly doesn't represent his entire music collection.

Exactly.

"I don't listen to just one genre, so my music collection and playlists reflect all types of artists and music", says 50 Cent and then follows up with a 100% rap track list out of which 60% is his own music.

Classic!

The only healthy workout you could get from this noise is to run in the opposite direction it's playing from.
Seriously, this is not "music", it is the audio equivalent of a malarial delirium.

Disagree to some degree, but you win the prize for wit! :)

I haven't heard any of those songs. Is there one song on that list worth listening to?

I have Fitty's "In da club" on my ipod and it always makes me workout harder

The whole album Get Rich or Die Tryin' makes for a killer workout. Love those Dre beats!!

Boy, that's some eclectic mix there. I don't have enough faces, nor palms.

Meh.

It's funny how someone who puts out stuff that's the farthest thing from actual music is so passionate about music.
04:06 PM on 06/27/2012
Absolutely. As if loops and digital signal processing equals music. Not.

Also, the man has a passion for misogyny, woman-hating and a worshipful attitude toward male genitalia. Did you ever listen to any of his lyrics? Come on down to my candy shop, I'll let you lick my lollipop, Come on girl, don't stop, don't stop. Great stuff for the young to be hearing on the airwaves.

Loops and digital signal processing don't EQUAL music, but they are valid musical tools. Don't be a twit.

That song certainly played a role in robbing me of my innocence in middle school. Thanks, 50!

As opposed to all that ramlbing guitar noise put out by baby boomer artists? j/k. Music is like art. It means different things to different people. There are no set rules other than expression. True musicians and music lovers know this. I'm sure 50 Cent knows what I'm talking about.
03:01 PM on 06/27/2012
Boy, that sure is one eclectic music mix, isn't it?!
03:54 PM on 06/27/2012
I'm sure you don't workout much, so it's cool...but I don't know many people that listen to "eclectic" music when they're trying to get pumped up to workout...
04:50 PM on 06/27/2012
Well, the guy said he listens to a lot of different styles. He sure didn't exemplify that with this playlist. And actually, I do work out. I usually listen to an entire album. But that just comes from actually appreciating music on a little higher level than just what can pump me up. I guess some people just need "Who Let the Dogs Out" though, or whatever iTunes suggests from the mindless current top 40 pap.

This is how unhip I am: the only artist on there I know (other than 50 Cent) is Jay-Z. I am old.
