2012 News Sentinel
Academic Achievers
The News Sentinel and U.S. Cellular congratulate you on your accomplishments and your selection as a member of the 2012 class of Academic Achievers! The Academic Achievers program was developed in 1985 with the support of area superintendents to recognize academic excellence. Thirty high schools participated that first year. The program has expanded over time, with over 7,900 students honored as Academic Achievers since the program’s inception 28 years ago. Academic Achievers are chosen by the schools on the basis of grades, but they are also leaders in school activities and in their communities. This year we recognize 321 honorees from 65 East Tennessee schools.
